I'm a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Previously, I was an ERCIM fellow and postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and before that, I worked as a postdoctoral and PhD researcher at the Department of Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

I'm looking for excellent PhD students and postdocs. If you are interested in working on design-based learning and technology-enhanced emotion interventions, please check and consider applying for the PolyU postgraduate fellowships (for PhD students) and RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (for Postdocs), and reach out to me over email.

In general, my research focuses on bridging the gap between users, technology, and innovative solutions. I am particularly interested in projects that enhance personal well-being (such as emotion awareness and management), improve learning experiences, and develop tools and methods for studying motivational and behavioural factors across learning contexts, design activities, healthcare, and everyday life.
“Emotions need to get us on the way, not get in the way. To facilitate this, I'm working on developing technologies that power self and social awareness of emotions so they can provide added value to our experiences.”
